Bonbons Crush Legend - Match 3

Bonbons Crush Legend drops you behind a candy-shop counter for straightforward match-three, built around one distinct trick: a stacked centrepiece that detonates for a bigger clear. It's tidy, cheerful, and doesn't ask much of you beyond a spare five minutes.

Grid with a stacked centre column

First few minutes

The tutorial doesn't linger. We were dropped into level 13 within a couple of minutes, already clearing iced tiles and striped candies on the same board, with a small shop scene above the grid — a pink-haired baker and a teddy bear parked next to the register — quietly labelling each reward icon as it lands in the tray. Nothing about the opening stretch asks for a second attempt.

That pace is deliberate. Cookie Fun clearly wants you past the explanatory levels fast, and the shop-counter UI does more teaching in its first ten seconds on screen than most match-three tutorials manage in a full minute of forced taps.

How the board works

Match three or more candies of one colour to clear them — the same rule as every game in this hub — but Bonbons Crush Legend's signature move is a stacked centre column: three identical pieces glow and rise in the middle of the grid, and matching around them detonates the whole stack at once for a much bigger clear than a normal match.

It's the one genuinely distinct idea in the game, and it resurfaces often enough across the levels we played to feel like a real design decision rather than a one-off flourish shown in a store screenshot and never again.

Boosters and specials

Chaining more than three candies spins up striped or wrapped pieces that clear a full row or a blast radius around themselves, and the game's headline reward — a two-tier iced cake studded with hearts, labelled "Powerful Magic Candy" on screen — drops after a strong multi-match rather than on a fixed timer.

That earned-not-given structure keeps the harder levels from turning into a checklist of waiting for a free gift. You have to actually chain well to see the bigger effects, which is a small thing that changes how a fifteenth attempt at a level feels.

Where it drags

The shop-counter framing — candies, cakes, an occasional plush toy — never grows into anything more than a static backdrop. There's no story beat beyond the level number ticking upward, and the reward icon set repeats often enough that by level 30 you've met the full cast of collectibles.

If you're coming from a hub game with even a light narrative thread, the absence is noticeable. Bonbons Crush Legend isn't trying to be more than a board and a counter, and it says so plainly by never pretending otherwise.

Bottom line

Bonbons Crush Legend is a well-tuned, unpretentious match-three: quick to learn, generous with the one real trick it has, and perfectly happy to be background noise on a commute. It won't be the game you bring up afterward, but among the four in this hub it's reliably the one that's easiest to just open and start.

What we liked

  • The stacked centre-column move gives every board one clear goal beyond just clearing the grid
  • Level goals are explained by the shop-counter reward tray before you start, not after you fail
  • Boosters from long chains feel earned rather than handed out on a timer

Where it falls short

  • The bakery framing never develops past a static shop counter — no story beats, no changing scenery
  • Reward icons repeat often enough that the cast feels fully seen by level 30
