1. Who operates this site

2. Scope of this notice

This notice covers the website at https://cruxjoy.com only. CruxJoy does not operate a mobile app, does not run a loyalty program, and does not maintain user accounts. The site has no contact form, no newsletter sign-up, and no comment system — the only way to reach the operator directly is by email, described on the Contact page.

3. What information is collected

Because CruxJoy has no forms, no account system, and no newsletter, the only personal information the site touches is the technical information that any web request generates automatically: your IP address, general device and browser type, the page you requested, the page that referred you (if any), and, in aggregate, page-load performance metrics such as Core Web Vitals. This information is collected by the hosting provider and by Cloudflare, Inc., which CruxJoy uses as a content delivery network (CDN) in front of the hosting server.

If you email CruxJoy directly, the information you choose to include in that email (such as your name and email address) is received and read by Nadia Boyko and is not shared further except as described in section 7 below.

4. Why this information is collected

Technical request information is collected for the purposes of operating the site reliably, protecting it against abuse (for example, automated traffic or denial-of-service attempts), and understanding, in aggregate, how the site performs for visitors. CruxJoy does not use this information for advertising, does not build individual visitor profiles, and does not sell or rent any information to third parties. Under PIPEDA's accountability and identifying-purposes principles, these are the only purposes for which technical data is processed.

5. Cookies and local browser storage

CruxJoy does not set any first-party cookies. The only data the site itself writes to your browser is a single entry in local storage, used to remember whether you have dismissed the cookie notice banner, so it is not shown again on your next visit to the same browser. 6. How long information is kept

Server and CDN request logs are retained only as long as needed for the operating and security purposes described above, and are not kept indefinitely. CruxJoy does not maintain a separate long-term visitor database of any kind. An email you send is kept only as long as needed to address the matter it concerns, or as required by law.

7. Who this information is shared with

Two categories of third party process technical information on CruxJoy's behalf: the hosting provider that serves the site's files, and Cloudflare, Inc., which provides CDN and network-security services in front of the hosting server. Both act as service providers to CruxJoy, not as independent users of your information. Because both operate global infrastructure, some processing may take place outside Canada, including in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from Canadian law. Where information is transferred outside Canada, CruxJoy relies on its service providers' contractual and technical safeguards to protect it. CruxJoy does not share information with advertisers, data brokers, or any party for marketing purposes, because it does not run advertising or marketing of any kind.

8. Your rights

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to know what personal information an organization holds about you, to request access to it, to request that inaccurate information be corrected, and to revoke consent to its collection or use where consent was the basis for collecting it, subject to legal or contractual restrictions. Because CruxJoy collects very little personal information and holds no account-linked data, most of these requests can be answered quickly and directly.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. CruxJoy will respond within a reasonable time and, where a request cannot be fulfilled (for example, because anonymous technical logs cannot be tied back to a specific individual), will explain why.

9. Children's privacy

CruxJoy is a general-audience editorial site about mobile games and is not directed at children. The site does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and because there are no forms or account features anywhere on the site, no information is knowingly collected from anyone, child or adult, beyond the automatic technical data described in section 3.

10. Security

The site is served entirely over HTTPS, encrypting data in transit between your browser and CruxJoy's servers. Because the site collects no account passwords, payment details, or form submissions, the security measures in place are focused on keeping the site itself available and free from tampering, through the hosting provider's and Cloudflare's standard infrastructure protections.

11. Changes to this notice

If this notice is updated, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date below. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised notice.

12. How to complain

If you believe CruxJoy has not handled your personal information in line with this notice or with PIPEDA, contact Nadia Boyko first at [email protected] so the matter can be addressed directly. You may also file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, 30 Victoria Street, Gatineau, QC K1A 1H3 (priv.gc.ca), which oversees compliance with PIPEDA across Canada. Newfoundland and Labrador consumer matters more broadly are handled by Digital Government and Service NL.
